I bought my first & only Shorthair in 1981. All my Shorthairs are descended from this dog, Terra. I grew up with a Shorthair and always knew I wanted to breed and show them. After studying genetics at university I was ready, and began applying what I’d learned to breeding my favourite dogs. Now seven generations later I have exhibited and titled dogs in the field, show and obedience rings. I’ve been part of a flyball team, musical drill team and been in a Superdogs show. My dogs have been a sled team and I’ve skied behind them.
Although ardogs are show quality, a loving, active family home is preferred, as this is the best home for a dog.Our breeding stock has hips certified clear of hip dysplasia and eyes certified normal. It’s not just about looks, dogs with good conformation have fewer joint and skeletal problems especially when active.
As a registered breeder all our dogs are required to be registered with the Canadian Kennel Club. I am also a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Canada.
Located in the Squamish valley in a wilderness area, we usually have about 10 dogs ranging from 1 – 14 years of age. Although they have free range over our 10 acres they often end the day on the couch. We usually have one a year and sometimes older dogs available.
Please contact me if you’d like more information or would like to come to visit the dogs to see if one is right for you. Certainly explore the site for more photos and details about ardogs.
